Bruce Davis Award

It all begins with an idea. Over 20 years ago, a group of dedicated APS staff had a vision: to make a tangible difference in the lives of elders and adults with disabilities in our community. From that spark, Silver Ribbon Community Partners was born.

Initially, we focused on raising awareness of Elder Abuse by creating and distributing silver ribbons through our community outreach efforts. The silver ribbon became a symbol of hope and protection for vulnerable individuals.

In 2002, our commitment grew, and Silver Ribbon became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We expanded our services to provide critical financial assistance to the elderly and adults with disabilities, helping them meet basic needs and maintain independence. Through our two Silver Ribbon Star Rooms and our ongoing community outreach, we also provide essential incontinence and hygiene products, ensuring dignity and comfort.

Beyond direct assistance, we continue to champion elder abuse awareness and address other critical elder issues within our community.

We're incredibly proud to share that in October 2024, Silver Ribbon Community Partners was recognized by the Texas State Partners Adult Protective Services Board as one of the Bruce Davis Recipients. This prestigious award acknowledges our hard work and dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

This journey wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of our community partners, donors, and volunteers. We are profoundly grateful for your contributions to our mission.
